More Grand Prix Sans Bit

This is a video I stumbled upon last year. I’m not a bitless convert by any means. I don’t see bits as the enemy – bad hands can cause damage with bits or with most bitless bridles. But, these riders doing demos bitless show that it can be done, on a well trained horse, without brute strength and a double bridle.

What I particularly love about watching this video is how quickly and easily they go from collected to relaxed and stretched, and back again … and the fact that the horse actually stretches when given the chance – something all too rare in modern competitive Dressage, especially in Grand Prix horses! May this be as inspirational for you as it is for me.

Be good to your horses!
